Third-party testing has demonstrated its ability to significantly reduce Chlorine, Chloramines, and other chemicals commonly found in home water supplies. It is ideal for any outdoor water needs where cleaner water is desired. However, do not use it with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without proper disinfection before or after filtering. In independent tests, our filter has been proven to reduce organic chemicals by 99% and chloramines by 97% or better. If you plan on using the filter daily, we recommend purchasing a garden hose quick connect from your local hardware store to easily attach the filter and prevent any damage to the filter threads from the metal on the hose. Keep the quick connect attached and store the filter in a plastic storage bag without replacing the end caps.

What exactly is catalytic carbon? This carbon is produced from coconut shells that have undergone a steam activation process resulting in micro-pores of activated carbon. During activation, millions of pores are created on the carbon surface, increasing the total surface area. The carbon is then coated with a catalyst that works to break the bond between chlorine and ammonia (which forms chloramine), allowing any remaining chloramines to be treated effectively. This acid-washed catalytic carbon is particularly efficient in adsorbing chlorine, ammonia, disinfection by-products, TCE, PCE, MTBE, and other trace-level organics.
